CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS FOR FALL 2008

Campbellsville University announces the academic scholarship recipients for the 2008-2009 academic year, according to Dave Walters, vice president for admissions and student services.

Shaleena Rider of 425 Hobbs Reesor Rd, Vine Grove, KY, received the Academic Scholarship for 6000.0 annually.

Scholarship awards are based upon a students ACT or SAT score combined with their GPA and class rank

The Presidential Scholarship is for full tuition is awarded to five students each year. Students qualify to compete if they have at least a combination of 3.5 GPA and 30 and 1980 on ACT or SAT, respectively.

The Presidential Excellence Scholarship is for students that have at least a 3.5 GPA and 33 or 2170 on ACT or SAT, respectively. This scholarship is awarded to one student each year and is for full tuition plus room and board.

The Governor Scholar Scholarship is for students that participated on the Governor Scholar program (in KY) and have a 3.5 GPA and a 25 or 1720 on ACT or SAT, respectively.

Campbellsville University is a private, comprehensive institution located in South Central Kentucky. Founded in 1906, Campbellsville University is affiliated with the Kentucky Baptist Convention and has an enrollment of 2,405 students who represent 98 Kentucky counties, 25 states and 36 foreign nations. Listed in U.S.News & World Report's 2008 "America's Best Colleges," CU is ranked 22nd in "Best Baccalaureate Colleges" in the South and eighth in the South for "Great Schools, Great Prices." CU has been ranked 15 consecutive years with U.S.News & World Report. The university has also been named to America's Best Christian Colleges. Campbellsville University is located 82 miles southwest of Lexington, Ky., and 80 miles southeast of Louisville, Ky. Dr. Michael V. Carter is in his tenth year as president.
