'Little Shop of Horrors' to be presented June 30, July 1, July 3 and July 4

Campbellsville, KY (06/21/2021) — Campbellsville University Theater, Community Trust Bank and Town Hall Productions will present "Little Shop of Horrors" June 30, July 1, July 3 and July 4 at Maple Tree Investments, 204 Main St., Campbellsville, Ky.

In the play, the meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names "Audrey II" - after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it BLOOD.

Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II's out of this world's origins and intent toward global domination.

Jeremiah Jackson, who has done several shows at Campbellsville University who is a student at Northern Kentucky University, plays Seymour; and Jenny Kawa, who has also done several shows at Campbellsville University, most notably in "Shrek" as Fiona, is his coworker, Audrey.

Campbellsville radio personality Rob Collins returns from an earlier Campbellsville production to play Audrey II.

Others in the cast are: Jamie Killion, associate professor of music (voice) at Campbellsville University, as Mushnik; Kevin Durham, a teacher in Marion County who has performed in many shows at Campbellsville University including "Annie," as Orin, Trisha Hall, a teacher in Green County, as Ronnette; Liz Arnold as Crystal; Emma Grider, a Campbellsville University student, as Chiffon; with Gavin Johnson, also a Campbellsville University student, as the ensemble.

Starr Garrett, director of the theater at Campbellsville who is also professor of theater, is the director of the play. Alia McClendon, community theater manager at Campbellsville University, is music director. Matt Nall, technical director at Campbellsville University, is the tech director for the play.

Jolene Loreno is stage manager, Gabe Taylor is the puppet designer, and Carrie Fowler is the puppeteer. Andrew Ward is the producer.

"Little Shop of Horrors" will be presented Wednesday, June 30 and Thursday, July 1 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, July 3 at 6 p.m. (special start time due to community fireworks) and Sunday, July 4 at 2:30 p.m.

Admission is $10 with seniors 65-up, children 12-under and military at $7.
