Montel Richardson, pastor of First Baptist, to speak at chapel Feb. 2

Campbellsville, KY (01/27/2022) — The Rev. Montel Richardson Sr., pastor of First Baptist Church of Campbellsville, Ky., will speak at Campbellsville University's chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2 in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.

Richardson created the H.O.P.E. Project, a multi-service, non-profit organization with the mission of helping people daily through education, empowerment and enrichment practices. Camp H.O.P.E. was brought from the H.O.P.E. Project to provide more focus on the youth to experience summer enrichment.

The "Gathering," that targets college-age students and provides them with the opportunity to come together and worship God in First Baptist Church's newly renovated basement that also houses the H.O.P.E. Project's after school program.

In September 2017, Richardson was called to become pastor of First Baptist Church of Campbellsville. In October 2014, Richardson became an associate at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Ky. where he served three years.

In the fall of 2010, he became a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Hopkinsville, Ky. He held several positions in the First District Association of Baptist in Kentucky.

While serving as a youth minister for Section Four, where he reinvigorated a program that served young people in more than 25 churches. This led him to the presidency of the First District Congress of Christian Education.

Richardson is a 1998 graduate of Hopkinsville High School and a 2016 graduate of the American Baptist College in Nashville. He began his ministry nearly 21 years ago at St. Bethlehem Baptist Church in Pembroke, Ky.

Richardson is the husband of Etosha Cruite-Richardson and the father of: Montel II, Trinity, Ethan and Gabrielle.
