Campbellsville University, Town Hall Productions and Community Trust Bank to present 'You're Right Where You're Supposed to be'
Campbellsville, KY (02/09/2021) — Campbellsville University's theater department is once again partnering with Town Hall Productions and Community Trust Bank to present "You're Right Where You're Supposed to be." The performance will be available to stream beginning Feb. 24 through 26.
The play is a combination of four other productions: "Time Flies," "Dega C'est," "Lives of the Saints" and "The Green Hill."
"These four plays of playwright David Ives reminds us of the quickness of life and how much beauty there is in those around us. Join us for one or all: a tale of the short life of two mayflies, a person's plan to become Degas, the story of two women dedicated to funeral meal preparation and the globetrotting journey of a man to find his passion," Alia McClendon, community theater manager at Campbellsville University, said.
Characters and cast for "Time Flies" is as follows:
Horace, played by Nathaniel Clifford, a senior of Glasgow, Ky.; May, played by Lauren Phillips, a junior Campbellsville, Ky.; David, played by Gavin Johnson, a sophomore of Campbellsville, Ky.; Horace understudy, James Mattingly, a senior of Stanford, Ky.; May understudy, Holly Jo Evans, a senior of Cannon, Ky.; and David understudy, Morgan Rayhill, a junior of Campbellsville, Ky.
Characters and cast for "Degas, C'est Moi" is as follows:
Ed, played by Johnson; Doris, played by Emma Kate Grider, a sophomore of Columbia, Ky.; Driver and Museum Guard, played by Mattingly; Young Woman and Figure, played by Rayhill; Twin Donut Worker and Museumgoer, played by Evans; Ed understudy, Mattingly; Doris understudy, Phillips; and Ensemble understudy, Clifford.
Phillips and Clifford will also serve as deck crew.
Characters and cast for "Lives of the Saints" is as follows:
Edna, played by Rayhill, and Flo, played by Evans. Clifford and Grider will be the foley and stage crew while Johnson and Phillips will serve as stage crew.
Characters and cast for "The Green Hill" is as follows:
Jake, played by Mattingly; Sandy, played by Grider; Travel Agent and Italian Restaurant Owner, played by Johnson; Mrs. Kretchmar, 1st German Tourist and American, played by Phillips; Finnish Worker, Brittisher, Second Passerby, Afghani, played by Clifford; 2nd German Tourist, Telephone Operator (voice only), Passerby, played by Rayhill; Searching Woman, played by Evans; Jake understudy, played by Johnson; and Sandy understudy, played by Evans.
Starr Garrett, theater director and professor of theater, will be directing the play. Jon Andrew, instructor in theater arts, will be overseeing props, costumes and sound. England Blye, a junior of Louisville, Ky., is the costume assistant. Sinjin Fuchs, a sophomore of Eubank, Ky., is the set manager, and Whitley Howlett, a senior of Louisville, Ky., is overseeing props.
Emily Popham, a freshman of Brandenburg, Ky., is serving as the light board operator, and Natalie Shadrick, a senior of Paducah, Ky., is the productions stage manager. Caleb Shelton, a freshman of Crab Orchard, Ky., is the sound board operator and Gabe Taylor, a sophomore of Fisherville, Ky., is the QLab operator and oversees construction.
