Campbellsville University Career Services hosts Job and Internship Fair

Campbellsville, KY (12/06/2021) — Many soon-to-be graduates of Campbellsville University are on the hunt for a job, while other students are seeking internship opportunities to hone their skills and gain valuable on-the-job experience.

To help students network with potential employers, Campbellsville University's Office of Career Services hosted a Job and Internship Fair Nov. 18 at the Student Activity Center.

According to Teresa Elmore, director of career services, 44 employers attended the event.

"Getting 44 employers in one central location is quite a treat for the serious 'job hunter,'" Elmore said, "but just opening up a student's mind to potential employment opportunities is a target goal and can benefit all students."

Employers on hand included hospitals, nursing homes, accountants, emergency services and the Armed Forces.

"It gave many students the opportunity to network with recruiters, to learn about companies, agencies and church ministries and talk to them about the jobs they have available," Elmore said.

"Soon-to-be grads made valuable connections that opened their eyes to jobs that might be good for them. Several said they would be applying online and then following up in hopes for a formal interview."

The event proved helpful for Christina Miller, a freshman from Campbellsville majoring in English education.

"I know, talking to a few people, there's a lot more stuff I can do with an education degree," she said.

Evan McAninch, a junior from Campbellsville majoring in marketing, said the event has helped him get a better idea on his future plans post-graduation.

"It's just really helpful to meet with people," he said. "One of the people in this room could be my employer one day, and I would have never known it had I not been here. It's good to get the networking opportunities. I know I'm setting myself up for success by being here."
