Campbellsville University hosts Majors Fair

by Simon Baker, student news writer, Office of University Communications

Campbellsville, KY (01/05/2023) — Campbellsville University's Majors Fair in the Student Activity Center drew numerous students visiting to check out what majors are offered at the university.

The Majors Fair is held once a semester for students to view and get insights into Campbellsville University's majors and minors.

Students stopped to meet with professors, ask questions, receive answers from various CU departments and discover what might interest them.

Emily Spies, a freshman from Hodgenville, Ky., said she went to the Majors Fair to seek more information on her English major. Spies said she was an honors student in high school and plans to graduate from Campbellsville University in 2026.

Savannah Mejean, a freshman from Campbellsville, Ky., said she came to the fair to talk to professors about getting a minor in theology. She said she is a public relations major.

She said, "I have recently rekindled my faith in Jesus Christ and have been on fire getting into Christian studies as well."

Emmett Rutter, a senior from Franklin, Ky., said he went to the Majors' Fair to get more information on the different doctoral degrees offered at CU.

Rutter said the Majors' Fair helped show him the different graduate school offerings of Campbellsville University.

Rutter said seeing professors face-to-face and talking with them in person was extremely helpful. He said speaking to faculty members in person is much more beneficial than emailing them, as he had been doing.

His major is in education with an emphasis in social studies. He said the Majors Fair allowed him to "get information in some fields, in case I wanted to come back for another undergraduate degree."

He said, "I am attending CU for grad school in August for middle and high school education."

Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university that offers over 100 programs including doctoral, master, bachelor, associate and certificate programs. The website for complete information is www.campbellsville.edu.
