Campbellsville University names Kevin Propes as new registrar
Campbellsville, KY (07/05/2023) — Kevin Propes, who has more than two decades of service at Campbellsville University, has been named the university's new registrar.
Propes most recently served as director of academic support.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as the registrar at Campbellsville University," Propes said. "I look forward to joining the registrar's office team and serving the students, faculty and staff of the university in this new role."
As registrar, Propes will be responsible for maintaining and overseeing student records, which include enrollment, degree certification and transcripts.
He will also provide leadership in the university's retention efforts to identify areas of concern and assist students as needed. He will also serve on and lead academic operations meetings and other institutional planning and operations groups.
Rita Creason, outgoing registrar, said, "Kevin is an excellent person for the position of registrar. I have enjoyed collaborating with him on numerous projects throughout the years. His experience, knowledge base and commitment to students and this university are great attributes that will serve him well as registrar."
Propes has also served as director of introductory studies, assistant director of introductory studies and admissions counselor.
"Kevin Propes has served CU for many years as director of academic support," Dr. Donna Hedgepath, provost and vice president for academic affairs, said. "He leads with integrity and strong character.
"He is the obvious choice for this position after leading the BASC (Badgett Academic Support Center) to a higher level of service for all students. His expertise in academic support and technology will contribute to our mission to serve the next generation of students."
Propes has also worked as a Bible study leader and camp director for Centrifuge, a Christian youth camp offered through Lifeway Christian Resources.
Propes received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Campbellsville University in 1998. He also received his Master of Arts in Higher Education from the University of Louisville in 2003.
Propes is a 1994 graduate of LaRue County High School. His parents are the late Donnie Propes and Janet Propes.
He is married to Tina Brackett Propes, and they have three children: Dawson, Allen and Abigail.
