Campbellsville University partners with Christ University in India
Campbellsville, KY (07/28/2025) — Campbellsville University and Christ University in India are announcing an academic partnership to facilitate innovation, global education and cross-cultural exchange between the two universities.
The partnership brings the two universities together to focus on collaboration across a variety of academic areas, including Business, Sports Management, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Public Health, Music and Research and Publications.
"This partnership is not just about mobility. It's about building lasting academic bridges that benefit communities in both countries," said Peter Thomas, Assistant Vice President, Global Relations and Senior International Officer at Campbellsville University.
In addition to academic partnerships and collaboration, other key components of the partnership include a student exchange program that will give students from both universities opportunities to study abroad at the other institution, with transfer credit and experiential learning integrated into the curriculum.
The two institutions will also partner to produce joint research and publications, with faculty and graduate students from both institutions co-developing publications and research projects addressing global and regional challenges - particularly in areas like family systems, social equity, public health, and business ethics.
New degree pathways and program innovation will also be explored, particularly in the areas of Business, Marriage and Family Therapy, Sports Management, and Social Work, reflecting the need for real-world engagement and community-based learning.
Professors and researchers will participate in co-teaching, faculty residencies and research mentoring across fields as part of the partnership.
The partnership will also see both institutions work together in performing arts and music. Musicians and faculty will collaborate through residencies, ensemble performances, and cultural symposia that highlight classical and contemporary traditions from both countries.
"By aligning our academic strengths with Christ University, we are able to co-create opportunities in high-impact fields including business, and information technology," Thomas said, "while also celebrating cultural disciplines like marriage and family therapy, music and sports management. Our shared values make this an ideal and natural fit."
The partnership is effective immediately, with faculty teams already engaged in curriculum planning and the first phase of student exchange programs expected to launch in 2026.
"It is an honor to partner with our friends at Christ University, an internationally respected leader in higher education," CU President Dr. Joseph Hopkins said. "I look forward to this beginning of collaborative efforts in graduate studies, undergraduate studies, and exchange.
"Like Campbellsville, Christ University has multiple beautiful campuses and values innovation, faith, and life change."
