Campbellsville, KY (06/09/2023) — Campbellsville University's Elijah Coffey, director of residence life, and Kevin Propes, director of academic support, were among 65 faculty and staff from 18 Kentucky colleges and universities selected to participate in Bluegrass Tomorrow's Academic Leadership Academy.

Coffey, who has served at Campbellsville University since July 2014, said, "I was extremely humbled at the chance to participate in this program. To be able to connect with leaders and higher education professionals from across the commonwealth is an opportunity that I am thankful for and do not take for granted.

"I hope to gain knowledge and skills to better serve CU and to represent some of the great things taking place at CU with other institutions in Kentucky."

ALA participants receive professional development training and mentoring by institutional leadership from throughout the state to prepare them for career paths in higher education. Campuses nominated participants based on their talents and demonstrated leadership abilities.

"I was honored to be nominated and selected to attend the 2023 Academic Leadership Academy," Propes, who has served at Campbellsville University since February 2004, said. "I look forward to learning and growing as a participant in the Academic Leadership Academy, and I am grateful to be able to represent Campbellsville University in this year's academy.

ALA is a project of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education and the Bluegrass Higher Education Consortium, a partnership of colleges and universities in the Central Kentucky region managed by Bluegrass Tomorrow.

The academy was expanded statewide in 2019 to provide an affordable career development opportunity focused on the state's education challenges and successes.

Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university that offers over 100 programs including doctoral, master, bachelor, associate and certificate programs. The website for complete information is www.campbellsville.edu.
