Campbellsville University to present 'NatureScapes' dance April 21-23
Campbellsville, KY (04/07/2022) — Campbellsville University's Department of Theatre and Dance, Town Hall Productions and Heritage Children Services will present NatureScapes dance production Thursday, April 21 through Saturday, April 23 at 7 o'clock each night in the Russ Mobley Theater, 114 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.
NatureScapes is an original concert conceived by Kristin Dowdy, artistic director and instructor in theatre and dance.
The second annual dance concert presented at Campbellsville University, NatureScapes, is centered around the beauty found in nature. The dances presented will explore the co-existing relationship between nature and humanity and consider the connection between nature and the moving body as both are always growing, changing, evolving and interacting with their surroundings.
Dowdy said, "Audience members can expect an evening reflecting on the wonders of nature by considering the majesty of the desert, the beauty of the moon, as well as other plants, animals and natural wonders that grace the Earth."
The dance is choreographed by Campbellsville University's Department of Theatre & Dance faculty, students, alumni and members of the Campbellsville community.
Starring in the production are dancers England Blye, a senior from Louisville, Ky.; Whitney Bowden, a junior from McKee, Ky.; Jaren Childers, a senior from Elizabethtown, Ky., who is also a costume designer;
Lauryn Littlejohn of Weedsport, New York, who is also a costume designer; Anna Grace Peterson, a Campbellsville graduate from Columbia, Ky., who is also a choreographer; Briana Mardis, a sophomore from Campbellsville, Ky.;
Emily McKinney, a junior from Richmond, Ky., who is also a choreographer; LaShawna Polite, a junior from Beaufort, S.C. who is also a choreographer;
Morgan Rayhill, a senior from Shepherdsville, Ky.; Gabriel Taylor, a junior from Taylorsville, Ky.; Yuri Tomita, a senior from Japan who is also a costume designer; Kaleb Trent, a post-baccalaureate student from Munfordville, Ky.;
Jasmine Verrett, a junior from Elizabethtown, Ky.; and Priscilla Wilson, a sophomore from Lebanon, Ky.
The crew consists of: Mugisha Bienvenu, a senior from Louisville, Ky., video interviewer and editor; Dowdy, who also serves as light and costume design; Savannah Sharp, board operator;
Emily Whitehurst, light board/costume designer; Emma-Kait Grider, a junior from Columbia, Ky., stage manager; Haley Fecher of Mt. Sterling, Ky., chorographer/costume designer; and Sinjin Fuchs, a junior from Eubank, Ky., sound/projection board/costumer designer.

General admission is $7; children and seniors are $5. Campbellsville University faculty, staff and students are free.
Chapel credit is available.
