Christian artist Scotty Inman performs at Campbellsville University

by Simon Baker, student news writer, Office of University Communications

Campbellsville, KY (12/08/2022) — Gospel artist Scotty Inman recently performed hits off his new album "Anywhere Jesus Is" in Ransdell Chapel at Campbellsville University.

Former CU campus minister Dan Flanagan introduced Inman as being a long-time friend and said Inman has "seven number-one songs that have been published."

According to Flanagan, has received awards from Singing News Fan as "Baritone of the Year" and "Songwriter."

Inman, between performing, offered students messages of encouragement, support, faith and the love of Christ.

Inman said, "We serve a God who has amazing, amazing grace, and his mercies are new every morning, and one day you're going to realize you can't live one day without God."

Before singing his new, hit song, "Anywhere Jesus Is," Inman talked about how the music was composed. "We didn't have a church building," he said. "We had a cabin, but Jesus was there."

Inman said, "The building is not the church; the building is the space. We are the church, and anywhere you go, He is there, so I want to be anywhere Jesus is."

Inman said, "I want you to remember that when you wake up in the morning, going to your classes, He is with you always.

"You don't have to invite Him to be with you; He's there already. You must ask Jesus in your heart to save you, but you don't have to invite Him to be by your side.

"Jesus is everywhere; He's with you in your class. He's with you when you're worried. He's with you when you got concerns, and He's with us right now."

Inman said everyone should "show a little kindness and give a little hope."

He said, "We got to love one another. I know right now you got friends that you're seeing. You have friends already here at school that have confided in you that life's just not where it needs to be for them, and they're ready to let go."

Inman said there are people "ready to give up on God." He said, "They're ready to give up on school, and that's where you step in. God's going to use you to show a little kindness, give a little hope and be a light to those who are letting go."

Inman sang his song "Saved People" by having students and the audience repeat the line from the song, "saved people, serve people, served people, get saved."

Inman shared his experience at Campbellsville University by taking a stage selfie with the band and audience, which he posted on his Facebook page.
