Christian speaker Demetria Gilkey to give chapel address Oct. 19

Campbellsville, KY (10/13/2022) — Demetria Gilkey, a Christian speaker who is a 2020 Campbellsville University graduate, will speak at chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.

Gilkey is an author, speaker and master trainer. She is a woman in ministry, and according to her biography, enjoys "speaking and sharing my unique life experiences about confidence, mindset and forgiveness."

Gilkey said she likes to share so "that I can help other people who are overcoming obstacles to flourish in their lives."

Gilkey revolves her life around helping others, her faith in God and being positive in life. Gilkey said in her biography, "I am all about chasing impact and helping others, and I really believe that faith, effort and a positive mindset can take you farther than you ever imagined."

Gilkey said she speaks "my truth to every individual and audience that I encounter. I love to encourage people to activate their faith, so that they can blossom into who God designed them to be."

Gilkey said in her biography that she gets her strength from Christ. "I live my life by my favorite Bible verse, found in Philippians 4:13" which says: 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'"

Gilkey said, "Whenever I am faced with tough challenges, Jesus helps me through them." She said, "Life is too short to allow fear to keep you from following your dreams and passions. Live the life that you imagined."

Gilkey is a 2008 cum laude graduate of Western Kentucky University. She received her Master's degree in Theology from Campbellsville University.

She and her husband, Aaron, whom she met at Western Kentucky University, have a daughter, Bellamy.
