Creason is speaker for Campbellsville University's chapel Sept. 6

Campbellsville, KY (08/24/2023) — Campbellsville University will feature its campus minister, Trent Creason, as the chapel speaker Wednesday, Sept. 6.

The chapel service will take place in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., and begins at 10 a.m., Eastern.

Creason stepped into the role of campus minister at Campbellsville University in August 2021. He has served at Campbellsville University since September 2013. Before becoming campus minister, Creason was the university's director of student activities.

"It is important for students to get to know the campus minister, and Trent is amazing," Jamie Lawrence, Campbellsville University's executive director of ministry and church outreach, said. "He truly cares for these students, and the more they get to know him, the more they realize it.

"Trent will share a message of life to impact these students for eternity. I'm thankful to work alongside him."

Creason, a Campbellsville native, is a 2008 Campbellsville University graduate receiving a Bachelor of Science in pastoral ministries. As a student, Creason was involved in Baptist Campus Ministry, serving as BCM president from 2007-2008.

At his 2008 commencement, Creason was the student recipient of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award.

Along with the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award, Creason has also received the Campbellsville University Servant Leadership Award, Mr. Campbellsville, Alpha Chi, Rotary Club Award, Outstanding Senior, Who's Who Among American Students and Pastoral Ministries Award, all while a student. He was valedictorian and graduated summa cum laude.

Creason participated in several mission trips at CU and has worked several summers with the Centri-kid Lifeway student camps.

Creason also holds a Master of Arts in Discipleship and Family Ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, which he earned in 2011.

He has served in various capacities on multiple committees, leading him to additional Christ-related positions, including chapel coordinator for Kentucky Christian Academy and part-time at Campbellsville Baptist Church Youth and College Ministries.

He is married to Sarah Borders Creason, and they have three children, Nehemiah, Evelynn and Levi.

Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations.
