CU welcomes Monica Hardin as assistant vice president for academic affairs
Campbellsville, KY (11/11/2024) — Campbellsville University has a new assistant vice president for academic affairs - Dr. Monica Hardin.
"I am honored to join Campbellsville University's academic leadership team at a time of great promise," Hardin said. "From the time I stepped on campus for my interview, it felt like home. Evidence of our faculty and staff's commitment to making CU be better every day was obvious from every interaction.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to be a part of carrying on CU's legacy of serving students well and meeting the needs of our region."
As assistant vice president for academic affairs, Hardin will provide leadership in curriculum development and provide guidance for CU's faculty as they perform their duties.
Hardin will also be part of the President's Cabinet for CU.
"Dr. Hardin has a record of innovation and qualitative improvement in academic administration," CU President Dr. Joseph Hopkins said. "We are proud to welcome such a distinguished leader to our team, and I am eager to see her impact on the future of already strong programs."
Hardin brings nearly 20 years of higher education teaching and administrative to Campbellsville University. She began her career at Spring Arbor University in Michigan as an assistant professor of history.
She most recently served at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Ark., in several roles - most recently as assistant to the President for innovation. At Ouachita, Hardin led the development of the infrastructure to re-launch graduate programs after a 25-year hiatus. During her time there, Ouachita launched six new graduate programs, which increased enrollment by nearly 10%.
"Dr. Hardin brings a wealth of experience in academic administration including academic department leadership, innovative program development, accreditation and policy refinement," Dr. Jeanette Parker, CU's interim vice president for academic affairs, said. "She is committed to the mission of CU and a great addition to the academic team."
Hardin earned her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Ouachita Baptist University in 1998. She also holds a Master of Arts in History and Ph.D. in History, both from Florida State University.
