Dr. Rose Carter named Campbellsville University 2025 Non-Tenured Faculty of the Year
Campbellsville, KY (09/09/2025) — Dr. Rose Carter, associate professor of accounting and business, was named Campbellsville University's Non-Tenured Faculty of the Year during the university's opening chapel service on Aug. 27.
Carter has served at CU since January 2011, when she came on as a payroll manager before moving into the role of accounting manager. In 2017, Carter transitioned to becoming a full-time faculty member.
"I am deeply honored to receive this award because it reflects the heart of why we do what we do: to inspire, encourage, and help our students succeed," Carter said. "Every class, every conversation, and every moment of guidance is a chance to invest in our students."
Carter brings 16 years of field experience in nonprofit, public, corporate and higher education accounting.
"This award is not only a personal honor, but also a reminder of the importance of the shared mission we have as educators at CU to prepare students to thrive and make a difference in the world."
Carter holds a Ph.D. in Management with an Accounting specialization and a Master of Business Administration from Campbellsville University. In addition to her roles as an educator and accounting professional, Carter is actively engaged in accounting, management and leadership research.
With over 28 years of professional experience, Dr. Carter brings a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and practical insights to her teaching and research endeavors.
During the award presentation at chapel, Dr. Jeanette Parker, provost and vice president for academic affairs, shared, "Dr. Rose Carter is a genuine servant leader who is recognized by her students for being highly engaged, academically demanding but fair, and making accounting classes fun. She's available to students even outside posted office hours. She often cheers the loudest during games when her student athletes are playing."
Parker noted Carter is highly respected by her peers and recently co-authored, "Exploring the Impact of Authentic Leadership, a Statistical Analysis of Supervisor Qualities and Employee Retention Rates in the United States."
"She goes above and beyond the call of duty to be of service to her fellow faculty members," Parker said. "She unselfishly gives her time, talent, and treasure for the benefit of us all. The School of Business, Economics, and Technology is blessed each day by Dr. Rose Carter."
