Faulkner named Campbellsville University Stapp Hall resident hall director

Campbellsville, KY (08/26/2020) — Madison Faulkner, a 2020 graduate of Campbellsville University and of Glasgow, Ky., is Campbellsville University's new resident director for Stapp Hall, the women's residence hall.

Faulkner said she has enjoyed her time at Campbellsville because the campus atmosphere and environment is a great one to be around.

"When the job opening was brought to my attention, it was almost impossible for me not to apply," she said. "I thought this was a great opportunity for me to give back to this campus and also help students have the best experience here, like I did."

When Faulkner was a student, she lived in the Women's Village for all four years and said she is looking forward to the community atmosphere Stapp Hall, which houses around 200 females, provides.

"I'm looking forward to meeting new people and being introduced to different walks of life and cultures," she said.

As the Stapp Hall resident hall director, Faulkner will manage the hall's resident assistants, create a positive experience that exhibits their values and standards and will help students connect to all the valuable resources available to them.

"As an RD, our main goal is to not only help students develop academically but also socially, physically and spiritually," Faulkner said.

While attending Campbellsville University, Faulkner played basketball. She played in every game from her freshman to senior year and started in all 32 games during her last season.

"I've always gravitated toward a leadership role. The switch from being a student-athlete to now a staff member here at the university will have its challenges, just like anything else in life. If I can help another individual make their life journey a little bit easier, I'm going to try my best to accomplish that.

"I'm excited for this opportunity and I'm so blessed to have been put in this position and to mentor to these young ladies," Faulkner said.

In 2019 and 2020, Faulkner was named to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) First Team All-American. She was the NCCAA National Player of the Year in 2019 and 2020. In 2018 she was named to the Second Team for the Mid-South Conference (MSC) and in 2019 and 2020 she was named to the First Team All-MSC.

Faulkner was a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-American and was named to the First Team NAIA All-American in 2020. During her senior season, she was named the MSC player of the week two times.

Faulkner obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Campbellsville University in 2020. She is interested in obtaining a Master in Marriage and Family Therapy from the university in the future. She graduated from Caverna High School in 2016.
