Pavy, former Campbellsville University campus minister, to speak at chapel

Campbellsville, KY (03/03/2021) — CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Ed Pavy, former campus minister at Campbellsville University, will be returning to campus to speak at the university's Wednesday, March 10 chapel service at 10 a.m.

Pavy retired in June 2020 after serving as campus minister for over 26 years.

After taking the position at the university in 1994, Pavy began offering multiple mission trips over the campus' spring breaks with the help of the university's Baptist Student Union/Baptist Campus Ministry organization. Since then, hundreds of Campbellsville University students have been on mission trips.

During his time at Campbellsville, Pavy took part in the Dave and Ed Show where he played one of the two Ficus brothers, Virgile. The show ran for over 15 years and was held during Welcome Week, around Homecoming and during Parents Weekend. The Ficus Brothers served as emcees for a lip-syncing contest for university students.

Pavy has been a member of numerous associations including the Kentucky Religious Educators Association, Kentucky Baptist Youth Ministers Association and the Association of Southern Baptist Campus Ministers.

Pavy is a 1974 graduate of Lawrenceburg High School in Indiana. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Police Administration from the University of Louisville in 1978. He then received his Master of Divinity in religious education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1981.

Pavy is married to Kathy Brookshire Pavy, and they have two children: Emily Jessie, who is married to Blake Jessie, and E.J. Pavy, who is married to Anna Marie Pavy. Both E.J. and Anna Marie work at Campbellsville University. E.J. is Title IX coordinator, assistant director of human resources and healthy at work officer. Anna Marie is director of institutional research.
