Peoples to speak for Holy Week at April 13 chapel service

Campbellsville, KY (04/07/2022) — The Rev. David R. Peoples, pastor of Jabez Missionary Church of Lexington and vice president of Progressive National Baptist Convention (PNBC), will speak at Campbellsville University's Holy Week chapel service, Wednesday, April 13, at 10 a.m., in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Avenue, Campbellsville, Ky.

Peoples has served as pastor since Jan. 19, 2014 at Jabez Missionary Church of Lexington. He served 11 years as pastors at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Ironton, Ohio, and he also served five years as pastor at Centerville Missionary Baptist Church of Paris, Ky.

Dr. John Hurtgen, dean of the School of Theology, will welcome and present the Robertson Worship Fund Committee who will oversee the service. The Reuben and Jewel Robertson Worship Endowment was established by the Robertson family years ago to celebrate the diversity of Baptist worship.

Peoples has won numerous awards such as having been named a Kentucky Colonel. One of his sermons was published in volume 2, books of "The Best Preachers in 50 years of PNBC."

He has served as a former trustee of Simmons College of Kentucky and as chaplain for the Ironton Ohio Police Department. Peoples studied in Lexington public schools and graduated from Bryan Station School in 1990.

He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He's taken Master of Divinity courses at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.

Peoples has been married to Margaret Mosley for almost 21 years. They have three children: Michael, Hannah and Rodmann.
