Secrets of Love, Dating and Courtship: Dr. Scott Wigginton to lead panel discussion on relationships at chapel this Wednesday

by Simon Baker, student news writer, Office of University Communications

Campbellsville, KY (02/12/2024) — Dr. Scott Wigginton, professor of pastoral ministries and counseling and Master of Marriage and Family Therapy Main Campus liaison at Campbellsville University, will lead a panel discussion on relationships at the university's chapel service at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, which is also Valentine's Day.

The panel discussion, titled "Secrets of Love, Dating, and Courtship," will consist of CU President Dr. Joseph Hopkins and his wife, Suzanne; Chapman Bean, a 2018 CU graduate, and his wife, Gentry; Christian Naylor, a 2018 and 2022 CU graduate, and his wife, Gabrielle; and Lamar and Trenae Payne, who serves as a first-year success coach at CU.

"All of the participants are graduates of or have deep roots at Campbellsville University," Wiggington shared.

Wigginton serves as Executive Director of Winterpast Counseling, Inc., which he started in Feb. 2022.

"While Valentine's Day is a celebration of romantic love, it is ironic that romance is the shakiest of all foundations on which to build a high contentment, high satisfaction relationship," Wigginton said.

The focus of the discussion, Wigginton said, is "to highlight some practical secrets which students, faculty and staff can use to create strong and lasting relationships and marriages."

Wigginton said his hope is that students will come with curiosity to a chapel service that can impact them for decades to come.

Jamie Lawrence, CU's executive director of ministry and church outreach shared, "This will be a very insightful and authentic discussion that you will not want to miss."

Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations.

Chapels can also be found on the Campbellsville University Facebook page.
