Local students pinned as part of largest class from Campbellsville University's Carver School of Social Work and Counseling
Dr. Darlene Eastridge, dean, opened the Carver School of Social Work and Counseling pinning ceremonies on May 3.
"God has blessed Campbellsville University with the largest number of graduates in the history of the Carver School," Eastridge said, "and very high caliber students in all three of our locations -- Louisville, Campbellsville and Somerset Centers."

Local students attend presidential inauguration with Campbellsville University clubs
January 2013 will mark a month that many Campbellsville University students will remember for a long time. Campbellsville University made it possible for three groups of students to attend President Barack Obama's second inauguration ceremony.

Campbellsville University Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Frank Cheatham has announced the academic honors' list for the spring 2012 semester.
The academic honors' list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or above for the semester with a course load of at least 12 hours. The spring 2012 academic honors' list includes a total of 460 students, with 188 achieving a 4.0 grade point average and having been named to the President's List. Campbellsville University graduates record number 597 students during 2011-12 academic year
Campbellsville University bestowed degrees on a record-breaking number of graduates, 597, for the 2011-12 academic year. In ceremonies Friday, May 4, there were 132 students who received master's degrees and 248 undergraduates received their degrees on Saturday, May 5, for a total of 380 in the May ceremony. There were 217 graduates in December ceremonies.

Campbellsville University inducts first members into Alpha Xi Sigma chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, national history honor society
"You don't have to do it, no one is making you, and that is what is nice about it," Dr. Eric Wake, professor and history department chair from the University of the Cumberlands, said referring to Phi Alpha Theta, national history honor society, at Campbellsville University's first induction ceremony. "When you decide to do it, you're stepping out."
Thirteen students were inducted into Campbellsville University's first Alpha Xi Sigma chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, national history honor society, in the ceremony held Tuesday, Feb. 28.
Wake spoke at Campbellsville University's induction ceremony on behalf of the national history honor society, Phi Alpha Theta. "We are proud to include you among us," he said.
Wake said the society is student-focused. "We want you to do what you want to do. Make the activities yoursaEUR"make it a part of you," he said.
In working hard, Wake said you "get up," "work at it," and "practice."
"Sometimes you blow it, but you smile and get back up," he said.
Wake has taken his Phi Alpha Theta students from the University of the Cumberlands to regional conventions to present papers, and some have attended the national convention as well. He encouraged Campbellsville University students to present their papers when the opportunity arises.
Campbellsville University's chapter of Phi Alpha Theta is one of two new chapters in the Commonwealth of Kentucky this year. The other is Bellarmine University.
Dr. Wendy Benningfield, associate professor of history, serves as faculty advisor for Campbellsville University's Alpha Xi Sigma chapter of Phi Alpha Theta.
